Mixmag music round-up: February

Here are the mixes and premieres we've treated you to this month

Every month we round up the best of Mixmag's music section. Here's what went down during February...

Dance music hibernates in January (the psychedelic hedonism of Mexico's New Year festivals excluded). But things get moving in February and the month gone was no exception. Over the last four weeks, the Mixmag music section has been full of artists getting their shit sorted and their music out there, kicking off 2016 proper.

Robert Hood has announced plans for a huge year, Sasha's back with a brand new mix album and Fatima Al Qadiri is on the verge of releasing her most charged work yet.

My Nu Leng announced a FabricLive mix and office faves Murlo and Deadboy minted a new collab called DBM.

We also put our bets on two DJs to take '16 by the scruff of the neck: Denis Sulta mixed the first of our new Impact series and Fuse mainman Enzo Siragusa turned in a stunning In Session.

Oh, we also dropped episode 2 of our Spotfiy In Residence show, too.

Hear brand new music from the aforementioned, and many more, below.

Premieres

Sasha 'Warewolf'

One of dance music's most prolific artists returns with a different sound. Taken from his exceptional 'Late Night Tales: Scene Delete' album, 'Warewolf' is a majestic track and one of our most popular premieres this month.

Robert Hood 'Lockers'

Techno's holiest name, Robert Hood, is on a hot streak. In fact, that's an understatement. The founding father has a second album coming as Floorplan later this year and he'll also release three EPs via Dutch label Dekmantel. We premiered one of the cuts from his first Dekmantel EP and 'Lockers' doesn't mess around.

Anna 'Odd Concept'

Brazillian producer Anna has been on our radar for a long time. Her fierce strain of tech-house and techno has been riling up dancefloors for a while now and her latest effort 'Odd Concept' arrived via Diynamic earlier in the month. File under: chunk.

DBM (Deadboy & Murlo) 'Ride With U'

We're rating this one and clearly so are you, as the track is riding high in the Apple Music Connect charts in the top ten. Two of the UK underground's most exciting figures combine to produce an irresistible slice of club heat. Big ups DBM.

Fatima Al Qadiri 'Power'

The first Mixmag Gold Artist of the year is Fatima Al Qadiri and we spoke to the artist at length ahead of her next album on Hyperdub. The second single from the LP is 'Power' and we had the first spin.
