Burn Energy and Mixmag joined forces once again last year for another series of parties and community events across four of Europe's cultural hotspots - Gdańsk (Poland), Valencia (Spain), Bucharest (Romania) and Budapest (Hungary) - for the Burn Energy Tour 2025.

Across last year there was a link-up of international acts and local legends, with names including Miss Monique, Dr Rubinstein, Estella Boersma, Hyperaktivist, Julian Muller, Konstantin Sibold, Mu450, Rosa Pistola, sim0ne and SPFDJ.

The Burn Energy Tour 2025 also saw the launch of a new competition aiming to platform emerging talent and grassroots communities around the Europe, the Burn Energy Tour: DJ Open. Following hundreds of entries, the winners were chosen, and the following DJs played an opening slot: Marta Kulpa (Gdańsk), Betty Bunny (Valencia), Emmanuel Harabula (Bucharest), and Rozalina (Budapest).

Burn partnered with a local collective ahead of each party for a community event to help showcase their drive and vision, while the run of high-octane parties across Europe's hottest cities pairs internationally recognised headliners with burgeoning talent from the region.

The Gdańsk party took place at B90 on September 12, with Scottish DJ and producer sim0ne, known for her turbo-charged club sets which pair the euphoria of house, the power of techno and unbridled energy of club music in an emotional impactful hybrid sound, heading up the bill.

Also playing on the night was Venezuelan artist and activist Hyperaktivist who’s been shaping up the Berlin club scene with her Mala Junta party and sets fusing classic dance music with Latin and Caribbean influence, Selected founder Frederic., and hardrgoove and trance emerging selector Marta Kulpa, who won the local Burn DJ Open contest.

The Valencia party was thrown at Marina Sur on September 26, headlined by Brazilian star Mu540 who brings house influence into his blend of baile funk, trap, drill and rap in a potent transatlantic fusion of sound.

Joining him on the bill was Mexico City's underground reggaeton icon Rosa Pistola, the genre-busting sounds Venezuelan DJ Safety Trance (AKA Cardopusher), and Burn DJ Open contest winner Betty Bunny, who explores reggaeton, dancehall, dembow, hip hop and dance music styles in dynamic sets.

The Bucharest party took place at the architecturally historic Hala Laminor venue with Ukrainian force of nature Miss Monique headlining, bringing her uplifting style of progressive house and melodic techno.

Joining her on the night will be French touch moderniser Notre Dame, versatile German artist Konstantin Sibold, and local deep house specialist Emann, winner of the Burn DJ Open contest.

The Budapest party saw out the year on New Year's Eve at Arzenál, with Berlin techno phenomenon SPFDJ headlining, bringing a cocktail of sounds spanning acid, hardstyle, UK hard house, bounce and hard techno.

Rounding out the tour alongside her were Dutch powerhouse Estella Boersma, the "acid doctor" Dr. Rubinstein, NALI boss Julian Muller and atmospheric selector Rozalina.

This year, The Burn Energy Tour kicked off at Ibiza's International Music Summit (IMS), with a club showcase and a panel discussion as part of the IMS programme.

On April 24, we lifted the curtain in style at Akasha, with White Isle legend tINI on hand to dish out her signature blend of thumping house and cavernous minimal for the gang. Joining her were some familiar faces from the Burn Energy Tour 2024, with Barcelona's ISAbella and Warsaw's Ola Teks, with the line-up completed by Half Baked alumni Robin Ordell.

The next day on April 25, the Burn Energy Tour 2025 landed at IMS for our summit session centered around a discussion of "What would you call this music?". Moderated by BBC Radio 1's Jaguar, with expert input from Ola Teks, ISAbella and Korolova, the discussion touched on how local scenes connect with homegrown sounds and how social media is helping to bolster the spread of these movements.

Last year featured unforgettable parties in Barcelona, Budapest, Venice and Warsaw, featuring sets from the brightest talents in dance music alongside a selection of up-and-comers and local heroes.

The events featured headliners KI/KI, 999999999, Hedex, Nia Archives and Honey Dijon, and attendees can expect a similarly weighty programme for 2025.
