Mixmag music round up: May
May the tunes be with you
Public Service Broadcasting 'Tomorrow' (Copy Paste Soul Remix)
Copy Paste Soul has all the right artists backing him. Skream, Modeselektor and Pan Pot have all been rolling out his music and recently he played b2b2b with Jackmaster and Laurent Garnier at Nuits Sonores festival in Lyon. His remix of 'Tomorrow' starts off deep and mystical with rippling tones and grandiose strings before the entire thing explodes into an all-out electro weapon.
Radio Slave 'Vision' (Marcel Dettman Remix)
As if the original mix of 'Vision' by Radio Slave isn't enough, on the remix is one of our favourite artists and someone well versed in bringing the dread. Techno warrior Marcel Dettmann has kept those harmonious riffs intact and added some serious kicks into mix. When you factor in the sweeping chords and mechanical groove, you've got a track that's more than worthy of the Berghain.
DJ Bone 'Black Patterns'
In typical Bone fashion ‘Black Patterns’ throws listeners straight into the action from the opening beat as piano stabs and hi-hats rain down heavily. As it progresses things get more and more driving with crashing percussion and vocals chops that sound like they’re echoing into the distance as the beat speeds past.
