With raucous club rhythms from two of Latin America's brightest underground exports, the South London crowd worked up a sweat on the hottest day of the year so far
South London's music heads braved sweltering temperatures on the hottest day of the year so far last week (June 19) to work up a sweat, gathering at Arch 535 in Brixton for a special edition of The Mixmag Lab with Desperados.
And who can blame them? A blistering line-up featuring Colombian-born DJ, producer and TraTraTrax co-founder Nyksan and Brazilian club-specialist BADSISTA was not one to miss, as the pair took our crowd through decadent party rhythms to celebrate the start of the London summer — complemented by Arch 535's house party atmosphere, as attendees gathered on the dancefloor, chatted in the kitchen and caught a breath of fresh air in the courtyard.
With Desperados original spirit-flavoured beer and cocktails on-hand to help cool down the sun-loving masses, this was a Thursday party to remember; Nyksan's masterhand at South American-meets-UK bass proved an instant hit with the early arrivers, setting multiple gun fingers ablaze as he tore through his set.
As the sun reached its last moments overhead, it was BADSISTA's turn to blow out the thermostat, as crowds gathered - fan in-hand - to move through his peak-destined baile funk selections.
