Listen to a playlist of 'Summer Sounds' curated by Manara
The queen of the blend handpicks a selection of sun-drenched UKG, Yorkshire-approved bassline and rowdy Bollywood edits in a sneak preview of what to expect from Dialled In's Bradford UK City of Culture 2025 showcase this weekend
Say it ain't so, but we're past the midway point of summer 2025. The signs are everywhere: Your supermarket has got a hold on its ice lolly supply, you've got that wistful little feeling in your chest as you watch the sky go pink just a minute earlier than last week above the day party, and everyone has stopped complaining about trying to sleep in the heat. As we look September in the face, and enter the phase of summer where we wish it would last a little longer, it's time to make the most of the best time of year before we have to say goodbye — and what could be more summery, more carpe diem than a sun-drenched playlist from the official queen of the blend, Manara.
And it's perfect timing — the DJ, producer and broadcaster will be heading to Yorkshire this weekend as part of Dialled In's first-ever event in Bradford as part of its UK City of Culture 2025 programme, Summer Sounds — set to take over The Beacon in Cliffe Castle Park on Saturday, August 2, with a whole host of artists lined up to help celebrate South Asian creativity.
"Summer Sounds is about platforming new-gen energy alongside timeless classics, with local artists like S-Dog sharing the stage with icons like Asha Puthli and Ustad Noor Bakhsh and DJ sets from Kizzi, Arthi and Manara," say the Dialled In team. "We want to create a space – and a soundtrack – for joy, noise and collective memory. Expect everything from street party heaters and South Asian Classics to deep, intricate instrumentals, jazz and soul and far beyond."

With just days to go until Dialled In touches down in Bradford, Manara has curated a playlist giving a sneak peek of what we can expect from Summer Sounds. "This is a warm-up for what we’re bringing to Bradford this weekend," she says. "I’ll be heading up north to soundtrack the sun, the crowd, and the vibes at this special event. It’s a celebration of community, and I’m really excited to be part of it!"
