Puerto Rican-British DJ and producer Layla Benitez has given us an exclusive look behind the scenes of her debut set at Coachella, California's most iconic glitter-clad festival taking place every spring. For the event’s 22nd edition, Coachella featured a stacked line-up of electronic acts including Caribou, Disclosure, Floating Points, Fred again.., Honey Dijon, and New York-raised producer, Layla Benitez.

Making her inaugural showcase at the event which takes place across two weekends in April, Benitez kicked off the first night with her debut set. After checking in at the Yuma tent on Saturday, Benitez made an appearance at Framework’s Art Of The Wild party alongside Damian Lazarus, Michael Bibi, Bedouin, and Dixon the following evening. The biggest after-hours party at Coachella took place in a private airport where revellers were invited to take a peek at the planes taking off and landing just a few hundred metres away.

Check out a photo diary documenting Layla Benitez’ sensational weekend at Coachella below.

"Rushed over to my set fresh from the airport for an evening with Nylon Magazine"

"The stage was absolutely beautiful, I just love all of the details that went into this event"

"My permanent mood for the whole night!"

"The next day, I had the honor of playing the Yuma tent at my first Coachella"

"All of my favorite people were there to support me, including my sister, friends I grew up with, and my Miami friends"

"This is my best friend Stella, we have known each other for 15 years. It was such a special moment to share with her"

"This is one of my favorite shots with the iconic coachella Ferris wheel, it really captures the magical energy of the whole weekend"

"Also such a special shot! My friends and I spent all day Saturday exploring"

"This shot is from Sunday for Framework’s Art of the Wild, which was in a private airport. The space was so unique, it was wider then it was long, and had a view of the planes taking off and landing"

"At the end of the night, I caught up with Damian Lazarus in the artists lounge to discuss my new track coming out on June 8 on his label Crosstown Rebels"
