Madam X preps to wreck Holy Ship! with 10 of her top selections

It's about time stalwart of the UK bass scene Madam X made her way onto the open ocean's most beloved rave boat, Holy Ship! The DJ and label boss is prepping her very best for the 11th edition of the cruise party alongside worthy headliners like The Black Madonna, Green Velvet, Justin Martin, Testpilot and more.

Diving into her coveted collection, Madam X hands us a sneak peek into some of her favourite listenings of the moment including tunes from Hodge, Walton, Addison Groove & Bim Sanga and more. Expect to be blown away by these selections and make sure to catch Madam X on board Holy Ship! 11.0 from January 10 through 13.

"Hodge has got to be one of my favourites at the minute. His set blew me away at Kaizen Klub the other month and I just love the way he combines techno with the heavyweight bass of dubstep; it's really interesting. This latest release on Berceuse Heroique is a little bit different, and there's two tracks on here that really stand out for me: this one and 'There's a Storm Coming in', influenced from the Terminator films with a bit more of an 80's analogue aesthetic. Love the build up of this one and the unpredictable drop. Perfect club tool."

"Biome's always been a master of electronic sound design. There's something incredibly unique about the way he'll take influences from his old dubstep roots and apply it to his 130 productions. I was so chuffed with this release we put out on Kaizen, and 'Weekend' in particular never fails to get the dance floor moving."

"Anyone who's come to see me play in the last year will know this is a staple in my sets. I'm a big supporter of the Meta guys and I really love the direction they're heading. Love the way they fuse grime vocals into punchy 130, and this 'Swing Ting' remix in particular - not a lot of people know - was made for me haha. I sent the Meta guys the Fox acapella and asked them to make me a dub for club play and they came back within a week with this absolute heater. Smashed it lads!"

There's so many intricate details and layers to his productions that makes his style impossible to replicate. He's a one of a kind, musical juggernaut breathing new life into electronic music."

"The formidable combo of Addison Groove & Sam Binga really delivered on this one. It's always a gamble when you collaborate with someone else and it doesn't feel like any time's been spent apart since their first official collab in 2013. Although Sam Binga is typically affiliated with the 160-170 scene, I love this journey down 130. Addison Groove & Sam Binga compliment eachother really well on this record with WATP3 taking the crown as my favourite on the release."

Their build ups are always so carefully crafted and executed, I've lost count with the amount of times I'll start a radio or DJ set with one of their tunes. Love this remix from the boys, especially the haunting siren crescendoing in the background that culminates into this energetic and vibrant breakdown."

"With Biome & Metrodome on production and a collection of some of the finest MCs to come out of Manchester, the Levelz lot never fail to deliver. I love everything about this tune: the way Skittles' vocal rides the cello led chorus, Truthos' thespian diction, Chimpo's imperative tone, the way Chunky comes in with this brute-like force with "Baggaman, Baggaman, Baggaman" over the stabbing juke sounds and the videos not bad either!"
