Now that the global tour with BUDX and Mixmag is underway, we can look back at our first event in Paris at some really special DJ sets.

Music plays a big part in the program but the daytime sessions featured a whole host of panels, masterclasses and workshops that showcase the best of Paris' culture and creativity.

We covered a wide range of topics during our daytime panels, including DIY raves on the rise in the city, how LGBTQ parties are celebrating the freedom of expression and the relentless rise of French hip hop.

Here we highlight some of the best panels to take place during the event.

Check them out below.

The Techno Connection: In Conversation with Kevin Saunderson

There are few artists in the world more suitable to discuss the history of techno than Kevin Saunderson. An undisputed pioneer of the genre, Saunderson's involvement in The Bellville Three alongside Derrick May and Juan Atkins has helped him carve a career that's lasted for decades. In the Techno Connection panel, Kevin chats about where it all began, how Paris has become a new hotspot for the sound and why techno is just as important now as it was 30 years ago.

Ed Banger: Past, Present & Future with Busy P and Myd

Paris, the City of Lights, the city where culture comes alive and the city that Ed Banger Records has taken control of for the last 15 years. Busy P aka Pedro Winter is in charge of one of the coolest and most-beloved record labels in the world and the imprint has introduced us to the likes of Sebastian, Cassius and a little known duo called Justice.

You can barely mention electronic music without mentioning the label, let alone within Paris. In this panel discussion we caught up with the boss himself alongside Myd, another Parisian mainstay, who's just joined the Ed Banger family. We talk about how far the label has come and how it continues to evolve, year after year.
