In Session: Enzo Siragusa
2016: The year of the Siragusa
Ever since that release, the musical output has been nothing short of golden. Much like with the direction of the parties, the residents are responsible for the majority of releases. Seb, Rossko and Rich NxT (who's just killed it with a new EP this month) alongside artists like Dan Farserelli, Alexkid, Antony Difrancesco and Archie Hamilton, have made up the label's solid roster and whoever steps up to release, puts their stamp on the now-blinding discography.
In 2013, two years after launching the label, Enzo moved the party from 93 Feet East to Village Underground and the rest is history. Fuse on a Sunday at the Shoreditch hotspot has now taken the crown as the capital's best and most-loved shindigs. What's not to like, either? Huge system, outrageous tunes, technically-outstanding mixing and guests that wouldn't seem out of place in Room One at Fabric the night before.
Guti, TiNI, Dewalta and Alexkid are all regulars at the party that's now a global sensation. Ibiza in particular is a well-travelled spot for Enzo and the crew as they've hosted parties at Sankeys, Space and The Zoo Project. It's come a long way since 93 Feet East but that's all because of our In Sessionist, Enzo.
His prowess behind the decks is something to behold. Anyone who's seen the selector in action knows what to expect. The mixing is always geared for the floor; the bass is always intricately teased at all the right moments, unloading a venomous low-end that always garners cheers at the perfect time. Whether it's on wax or CDJs, the track selection manages to blend the new with the old to create something exciting and highly-danceable.
His gig schedule reflects this as well. He played just short of 100 gigs last year and this year he's already been locked down to play at HYTE in Amsterdam with Ricardo Villalobos and Used & Abused with Loco Dice in Barcelona.
We've just been treated to a premiere of his new 'Solo' track and 'Desire', that finally dropped at the end of last year, has been hammered by any DJ that wants to inject the party with some rumbling low-end and scattered-percussion. With a huge year ahead, some massive EPs recently behind him and with Fuse making bigger strides than ever-before, it seems fitting that Enzo should record our next In Session mix.
We've had this on repeat in the office and it's a bumping, rolling journey through Fuse bangers and intricate tech. Exclusives from Enzo himself and new ones from S.A.M and Rich NxT are going to work you into a frenzy. Trust us.
It's always nice to see hard graft pay off, this mix is just the beginning. Check it
