Field Day is upping sticks again next year and relocating a 10-acre site at a former gas works in Meridian Water, North London.

The site contains four warehouse structures, the largest of which holds 7,500 people. Field Day describes the location as “ground-breaking”, revealing it will allow the event to go later than any other London festival and feature the biggest line-up to date. State-of-the-art production and top sound quality have also been promised.

Field Day’s festival director Luke Huxham said: “2019 will mark the start of a new chapter for Field Day and a completely new type of festival for London. This new site will allow us to break down the restrictions that London festivals are normally faced with and deliver an unrivalled experience. It's hugely exciting to be working with such a pioneering council, who support our ideas and are focused on creating a new cultural hub for London. We can't wait to unveil more of our plans in the coming weeks.”

The event comes alongside Enfield Council’s 20-year regeneration plans of the Meridian Water area, with which they intend to transform it into a 24-hour nightlife destination.

Nesil Caliskan, the leader of Enfield Council, said: “Enfield Council is hugely ambitious for Meridian Water - a major £6 billion, 20-year London regeneration programme led by Enfield Council, which will bring 10,000 homes and thousands of jobs to Enfield, North London. Meridian Water will be a truly vibrant neighbourhood and new destination to enjoy nightlife, music, theatre, cinema and much more, all year round. Bringing the sheds back into use to deliver high quality leisure, arts and cultural facilities and events is part of our drive to bring life and activity into the area and create a new 24-hour London destination.”

Field Day takes place across June 7 and 8 next summer. Pre-sale tickets go on sale on November 23, register for access via fielddayfestivals.com.
