“It was like a dream”: Inside Joseph Capriati’s evolving METAMORFOSI residency at Hï Ibiza

Though Joseph Capriati has been a regular face on the Ibiza circuit for years, the Caserta-born DJ and producer had yet to bring to life a full-fledged vision for his shows – until this summer. In a brand new residency for 2025, Capriati brought his METAMORFOSI party to Hï Ibiza with a “celebration of the transformative power of music”, taking over the superclub alongside Spanish techno star Indira Paganotto. 

Each Friday inside the Theatre, Hï’s main room featuring wall-to-wall visuals and enormous production, Capriati brought his pummelling techno and house sound to a sea of thousands. “It was very emotional,” he explains. “Walking into that room, feeling the energy of the crowd, and finally bringing METAMORFOSI to life at Hï, it was like a dream. I put so much of myself into this concept, so to see it come alive in that Theatre and to feel the reaction, it gave me goosebumps. It felt like the start of something very special… and it is!”

Alongside a “hand-picked line-up” featuring Ibiza legends and exciting new talent – including Dennis Cruz, Green Velvet, Chris Stussy, Sven Väth, The Martinez Brothers, Josh Baker & many more – each METAMORFOSI event promised to bring “all mutations of electronic music” to the booth. “It’s definitely an evolution, a transformation, and a way of taking things to the next level,” Capriati says. “After so many years of touring and experiences, I feel like I’m in a new phase where I can really express the full spectrum of who I am as an artist. And as I’ve said many times: METAMORFOSI is the perfect reflection of that growth.”

Over in the Club Room, Indira Paganotto matched the energy with a high-energy takeover curating line-ups with artists including Cera Khin, Patrick Mason, Ben Klock, Dax J, KI/KI and Hector Oaks – and while their sounds “differ”, she says, they also “complement each other” to a T. “I’m honoured to be a part of a female-heavy selection of artists with residencies on the island this summer,” she says. “It's been very special. Joseph and I have been friends for a long time, and our collaboration for METAMORFOSI felt natural from the beginning.”

“Anyone who follows my music knows what they’re coming for – to dance,” she says. “I always have a lot of energy for every set, and my performances at Hï are something that I look forward to every Friday. We have had so much great feedback about the Club Room, and the way it’s been designed. It gives a new, opulent feeling to clubbing, with killer psy-techno warrior energy.”
