BUDX touches down in Lagos
We head to Lagos, Nigeria for one of the most vibrant stops on our BUDX tour
BUDX is a global program, in collaboration with Mixmag and Budweiser, that will unite and spotlight outstanding creative minds in music and culture in some of the leading cities around the world.
For the first Mixmag and BUDX event, we headed to La Marbrerie in Paris where we hosted panels with esteemed artists like Kevin Saunderson and Busy P as well as high-octane DJ sets from the likes of Richie Hawtin, Maceo Plex and Louise Chen.
Our daytime panels in Paris also touched upon subjects like the booming Paris Ballroom and Voguing scene, where we spoke to DJ and performer Kiddy Smile. We explored the rising DIY rave scene that's taking over the city of lights and also how LGBTQ parties are becoming some of the most popular in the city.
As we get towards the middle of the year, our global events will head to even more of the most exciting cities in the world and from June 26-28, we’ll be traveling to Lagos, Nigeria for one of the most vibrant stops on the tour.
As with the rest of the cities, the venue will host a series of panels, workshops and DJ sets from both local and global artists from all around the world. We’ll be exploring subjects like Nigeria’s thriving dance scene, how Nigerian fashion is pushing the boundaries of street culture and also how Nigerian filmmakers are inspiring the entire nation.
As a true cultural platform, BUDX aims to amplify the voices and stories of rising artists to seize new, energizing opportunities, encouraging creators to rise up and Be a King.
Alongside workshops, art installations and masterclasses from the best in the business, you can expect performances from the biggest, best and newest talent from around the world. That’s a Mixmag promise.
Artists, panels and performances will be revealed very soon for now, get ready, as we’ll be shining a light on the best that Lagos has to offer.
