Hottest tracks of the month
1 Fatima Yamaha
'Whats A Girl To Do' (DJ Haus remix) (Soundcloud)
Fast-rising Rinse FM don DJ Haus is behind this 4/4 remake of the evergreen Yamaha classic from 2004, which as recently sampled by HudMo on 'Resistance' with Jhene Aiko. "A Glasgow classic" says Jackmaster of this new mix.

2 Melé
'Ambience' (Lobster Boy)
It's not easy to try and catch the same vibe as Masters At Work managed to create with 'Work' – but in truth, this might be the first track to actually get there! Already premiered on Mixmag, the drums and vocal scream Ibiza like nothing else. Liverpool has delivered.

3 Vrrs
'Someday' (Black Venison)
Another nod to DJ Haus this month, who launched 'Someday' on his Rinse FM show last month. It's not the Ce Ce Rogers classic but something raw, soulful but unarguably house, it's the work of London producer Vrrs (pronounced 'Vorres').
Best mix Original
Out End of July
4 Dusky
'Jilted' (17 Steps)
A new four-track EP from Dusky is always something to savour, and this has already had the Pete and Annie seal of approval. And while 'Skin Deep' is good, it's all about the acidic 'Jilted', surely a nod to Liam Howlett, who would definitely approve of its groove.
Best mix There's only one
Out July 31 on the Ordinary World EP
5 Deadbeat
'Berghain Drum Jack' (Visionquest)
Definitely the best release on the Visionquest imprint in a while, this brutal, bruising drum work-out from Canadian producer Scott Montieth aka Deadbeat does everything its title suggests: like the bouncers on the door, approach with caution.
Best mix 2015 edit
Out July
6 Kevin Knapp
'Heft' (Hot Creations)
You may recall Kevin Knapp's 'Curious' with Mat.Joe was on our recent Jamie Jones mix – and now he's back with a booming two-track EP for Jamie's label, bringing things full circle. Biggest wobble bassline of the month, to boot.
Best mix Original, but check 'Not Your House' on the flip, too
Out Now, on 'The Heft' EP
7 YouAndEwan
'Verloren' (Aus Music)
More Berlin-inspired business, and Will Saul's Aus label showing deeper, darker colours than of late. Ewan's original is great, but so is Dario Zenker's tough, throbbing club workout, a reminder of early-90s Spiral Tribe techno that's here to stay.
Best mix Dario Zenker's
Out July 20
8 With You feat Elan Atias
'Speak' (Hypercolour)
Finally! Dave 'Switch' Taylor returns with a soul and reggae-imbued new project called With You with Rick Trainor, Daouda Leonard, Jeff Penalva and Noah Schy. A natty remix of 'Speak' by 2 Bad Mice is included for those missing 90s rave.
Best mix Original/2 Bad Mice
Out July
9 Guy Gerber feat Miss Kittin
'Rumors On The Dancefloor Pt 2' (Rumors)
The first new vocal material by Gerber since 11:11, this glistening eight-minute house workout makes good use of
Miss Kittin's perfect vocal delivery on 'Dancefloor Part 2'. Dark and brooding, this is one for Tong and Fanciulli alike.
Best mix Rumors Part 2
Out July 31
10 Mark Ronson
'I Can't Lose' (Lindstrøm mix) (Columbia)
Props to Mark and Columbia for keeping remixes for his album under firm quality control. Following Benji B and Duke Dumont, Lindstrøm's mix sensibly keeps the percussion high in the mix and sets the Quincy Jones synths to stun.
Best mix Lindstrøm's, of course
Out Now; original on Ronson's new album
