Fcukers 'L.U.C.K.Y' (Ninja Tune)
The upcoming debut album from Fcukers, 'Ö', is one of the most anticipated LPs of the year, seeing the hotly-tipped NYC duo link up with Kenneth Blume (FKA Kenny Beats) to expand their zeitgeisty sound. This single taken from the record builds the hype to boiling point, serving up an addictive blend of dreamy sonics and direct vocals that flips between gentle euphoria and call-to-arms urgency. Feng ‘Cali Crazy’ (Regularisperfect)
UK underground rap star Feng narrates his LA era (a months-long stint across the end of last year) with the leisurely flow and straightforward lyricism that’s become his trademark. It’s music whose beauty lies in its simplicity, with a breezy beat from Bilal Hamdi underneath the fish-out-of-water storytelling of a wide-eyed British teenager navigating the sights and sins of Tinseltown.
MJ Cole x PinkPantheress ‘Still Sincere’ (Platoon)
PinkPantheress has made no secret of her love for UK dance classics from the '90s and '00s ever since her debut single heavily sampled d’n’b all-timer ‘Circles’ by Adam F. Her latest release sees her put her stamp on one of the great garage tracks, ‘Sincere’ by MJ Cole, working with UKG don to weave silky new vocals through a subtly evolved version of the transcendent tune.

Lone ‘Life Spark’ (Greco-Roman)
With the first single from ‘Hyperphantsia’, his first album in five years, Lone fired straight out of the 2026 gate with a verified dancefloor destroyer. Bringing rapturous breaks, buoyant, high-pitched rave vocals, and dizzying, trance-inspired synths, ‘Life Spark’ threatened to awaken our barely buried urge to throw ourselves in front of a soundsystem this Dry January. We’ve got a banger on our hands.

KAVARI ‘IRON VEINS’ (XL Recordings)
With its grinding, frantic breaks that collide against each other like a knife against a rock, ‘IRON VEINS’ feels like a piercing, hard-as-nails declaration of intent from KAVARI as she joins the ranks of The Prodigy and SL2 on XL. Teeming with latent intensity, the Scottish producer manages to toe the line between homage to off-kilter ‘90s rave and mind-bending disquiet of the now. It’s a slap in the face and a punch to the gut, in the best way possible.

Wata Igarashi ‘Mineral (Edit)’ (Houndstooth)
While vitamin D may be in short supply right now, Wata Igarashi’s transcendental turn on ‘Mineral’ manages to capture the forgotten feeling of sunlight warming the skin of your cheeks in sonic form. Created for Mastery’s forthcoming compilation on Houndstooth, ‘Quantum Sound’, this lusciously languid single manages to maintain an ardent energy with just a spattering of twinkling chimes and lapping synths. Whether it's in the throes of a 160 face-melter, or the velvety atmosphere put forward here, the Japanese producer continues to demonstrate his knack for intensity.

Sawyer James 'Fallow Ache' (Ommaya)
Across a mesh of jittery breaks and chainsaw synths, Sawyer James’ latest outing on his Ommaya imprint feels both sinister and dancefloor-ready at once, a textural delight that perfectly eases into the final moments of the label’s latest compilation, 12-tracker ‘Eidetic’.

Maara ‘I’m The One You Want’ (NAFF)
Montreal’s Maara takes a step into a new direction with her latest offering on NAFF, temporarily stepping out of her electro-focused comfort zone. Exploring styles like trip hop and alt-pop – and using her own vocals as a main component – the lead single from Maara’s new album ‘Ultra Villain’ is a welcome experiment. ‘I’m The One You Want’ is unhurried and gritty, backed by ragged bass chords that carry the track through its three minutes.
