Arun Verone

Arun Verone is a name that's bubbled up on the UK's underground house scene in a relatively short space of time.

He makes and plays the sleek, rolling, low-end four-to-the-floor that has captured the imaginations of ravers who head to warehouse parties in London and Birmingham week in, week out.

You'll know Arun's sound: it's deep and tech-tinged, the inner city house music that has risen in the wake of UK funky and been pioneered tirelessly by the likes of Mark Radford and Funk Butcher.

The style has fermented nicely in the Midlands (Arun's from the satellite town of Dudley), where ex-bassline and garage producers such as he and contemporary Chris Lorenzo have switched from making furiously uptempo bangers to pearling out tracks that are decidedly more stylish, more slinky but no less dancefloor orientated.

As 2014 comes to a close, Arun's about to score an underground hit in the form of 'Ketamine', which comes via Funk Butcher's Houseology imprint in December. A surefire anthem, it's built on an ice-cold bassline that's guaranteed to warm those warehouses this winter.
