Nestled within the urban landscape of downtown Los Angeles, a buzzing and booming music festival sprouted this past weekend with a line-up consisting of some of the most sought-after artists in dance music. This was All My Friends Festival, helmed by the nightlife savant Destructo, now in its second year that proved to be the hottest ticket in town.

Day one stormed through with headliners Justice taking the stage for a special DJ set that traversed their unique approach to French electro, a sound they've helped steer with a futuristic approach. They closed the session following a jacking house set by Idris Elba, the multifaceted talent who has explored his dance music roots in recent history. French favorite Busy P also took to the decks on the night, with his funk-infused sonic explorations of house and techno. With two stages going, Destructo, following a recent session in The Lab LA, brought the energy with his thunderous set.

Keeping in line with the stacked first day line-up, day two upped the anti with multiple headliners delivering rare and special performances. House music legend MK was joined by Diplo for a one-off b2b. The Mad Decent boss has recently dipped his toes into the house music spectrum and the pairing with MK didn't disappoint.

With a diverse range of styles on offer, DJ Harvey brought his infectious groove that garnered elation from the audience on the final day. Having recently wrapped up his Ibiza residency, the atmosphere was full of feel-good ballads, proving he's a true pro working a dancefloor.

The closing session truly had it all, from the warm and moving house of Blond:ish, to a jacking and soulful set from Chicago favorite Gene Farris and the chugging and emotive beats of South Africa's Da Capo, the crowd was left begging for more until the last second. Until next year, when we gather again with All My Friends.
