Born Dion McKenzie, TYGAPAW is a culmination of Jamaican heritage and 13 years of Brooklyn living mashed into a sound that she has coined “sultry club”. Soulful yet playful, her music is an aural representation of TYGAPAW as a mesmerizing character who translates easily from fashion spreads to the decks as a leader in the queer nightlife scene in New York at the helm of the monthly Brooklyn party Fake Accent and SHOTTAS NYC, the Caribbean and queer party and creative collective.
