In the wake of DIY nightclubs in Moscow being forced to shut down, including the iconic Rabitza space, in Saint Petersburg a new venue called Клуб has emerged, which is being described as "the wildest club in Russia".
Клуб, which means "Klub" in Russian, is profiled in a new feature from Dazed, that outlines how the club is fostering a raw underground culture. Established by a group of creatives, the venue is located in a ex-national railway factory and is the first DIY club in the city.
One of the club's founders Sasha Tsereteli, spoke on the vision behind Клуб: “We have managed to build a strong community within this space, that feels like a community for the first time. We always say that it is not about music, it’s about the people, and about making them feel connected, providing them with the correct experience, and giving them support.”
Local photographer Nick Gravilov has documented Клуб in a series of scenes and portraits that reveal the raw essence of the community. View a selection below.
