A month and a bit into 2020 and we’ve already seen some footwear releases that will be up for MVP come the end of the year. With Christmas out of the way and the January blues a distant memory, we’re probably all in need of a re-up in the footwear department.

Whether you’re looking for a statement sneaker, an option for all occasions or a pair of trainers you’re gonna keep in the box and never wear, we’ve got you covered. Here are 10 of the best footwear releases of the year so far.

Clarks Originals and Japanese streetwear dons Neighborhood teamed up for a rework on the Wallabee and the Desert Trek. It’s the former, though, that takes our fancy, with it’s rugged mix of hard wearing Gore-Tex, textured suede and Vibram sole. There are still some available if you’re quick.

PUMA and CHINATOWN MARKET first collabed last year, but their latest monochrome link up is certainly their best yet. Coming in both white and black colourways, each trainer features bright yellow detailing and the iconic PUMA cat stitched over a yellow CHINATOWN MARKET label on the tongue.

Nike x Off-White Waffle Racer

Bit mad these aren’t they? So mad they’re great. It’s often said that: stick ‘off-white’ or Virgil’s name on anything and it’ll sell - and while that’s true, these certainly warrant the hype. These are tagged as women’s sneakers, but I’d be lying if I hadn’t wedged by feet into the slimmer silhouette. Obviously they're all sold out.

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the classic Dr Martens boot, they teamed up with Bape to make a, well, very Bape collab. This is the first of 12 collaborations Dr Martens will be doing throughout the year to celebrate the anniversary.

adidas ZX 10000 C

The adidas ZX is arguably one of the brand’s most iconic silhouettes. Designed by the legendary Jacques Chassaing, these are the latest in the family. They have the same retro designs and Torsion bar like other ZXs, but this time come in an excellent 80s colourway we can all get onboard with.

Novesta x Peggs and Son

Slovakian shoemakers Novesta have teamed up with Brighton-based menswear store Peggs & Son to bring us these patchy, corduroy high-tops. Not only are these pleasing on the eye and soft to touch (we love corduroy), they’re vegan friendly too.

Nike React Vision

Made from some plush mesh uppers and sporting the ultra-comfy Nike React foam sole, these are a real individual option for the forward-thinking man of today. They come in a darker, purpley colourway too.

Okuh Studios Helios

A sole made from recycled plastics? A shoe hand-stitched in Portugal? These Helios sneakers from Okuh Studios has the lot. Referencing vintage basketball vibes they feature a luxury supple leather upper with suede panel details and a branded puller loop on the heel. Annoyingly, they're sold out.

Clarks Originals Wallabees Off-White Camo

These are by far and away our favourite release of 2020 so far. Another classic Wallabee, with an off-white, marbled camo effect. You’ll wanna take care of these, but if you do spill some chilli sauce on them, who’s gonna notice?

These are available at Well Gosh.

ACG Air Terra Antarktik

The 2019 craze of outerwear, hiking and everything and anything Gore-Tex has continued this year, resulting in ACG’s Air Terra boots going down a storm. Big velcro closures, perfect for high-performance, these are sneakers built to last.
