YouTube launches its premium music service in the UK today

YouTube Music and YouTube Premium will launch in 17 countries today, including the UK.

YouTube is expanding its music services beyond videos to offer a new music streaming service to fans.

The service will now also offer access to official albums, singles, remixes, live performances, covers and YouTube exclusives, as well as personalised recommendations and thousands of playlists across genres, moods and activities.

Users will be able to access an ad-supported version of YouTube music for free.

To access ad-free listening and downloads users will also have the option to upgrade to YouTube Music Premium for £9.99 a month.
