Watch Paul Oakenfold's Mount Everest set
The prolific DJ has completed his high altitude performance
Keen to continue breaking records with his pioneering DJ career, Paul Oakenfold most recently announced his excursion series called SoundTrek, which began at the base camp of Mount Everest.
After hiking up to 17,000 feet, he planned to play a set and become the first DJ to play the "highest party on Earth" while also raising money to help survivors of the 2015 Nepali earthquake.
He live streamed the event which took place on the majestic mountain on his Facebook, which can be watched below.
"After two years in planning, we have just completed SoundTrek, the party at the top of the World on Mount Everest’s Base Camp [while] raising money for four charities in the process," Paul said in a statement. "We have also supported the local talent and given the local community the DJ equipment supplied by Denon for the event."
Despite it's shaky mobile quality, the video shows Oakenfold playing on a humble card table for a small, seated audience, which Nepali DJ Ranzen Jha explained was because the air was so thin that people would lose their breath quickly if they tried to dance.
