Visionist reboots his record label with Acre and Filter Dread split 12"

Good music coming from the South Londoner's stable

Fans of Visionist will know all about his record label, Lost Codes.

The imprint has so far put out digital releases by Dark0, SD Laika, Bloom, Saga and LOL Gurlz & The Oracle. If you've been watching closely, you'll have noticed that the South London producer picked up on these names before they went on to notch records on more established labels such as Tri Angle (SD Laika) and Rinse (Dark0).

It's probably testament to Visionist's A&R skills that Lost Codes has just become a part of respected experimental label PAN. It's also shortened its name to Codes and the first release on this rebooted version will be a split 12" from Manchester's Acre and London's Filter Dread.

The record will feature six tracks of the hard, off-kilter, bass-heavy music that both artists are known for. It also marks a return to Visionist's stable for the pair, as they released Lost Codes' fourth and second EPs respectively.

Interestingly, the catalogue number of this Codes 12" is CDS:001, so it's definitely a new chapter. It'll come in an edition of 500, with the first 200 pressed on steel grey vinyl.

You can pre-order it now via Boomkat. Having heard a little about what else is coming through Codes, we can confirm that Visionist's dedication to uncovering brand new artists remains intact. Keep an eye on this one!
