V.I.V.E.K

Strong and righteous UK dub

V.I.V.E.K is a pillar in London's soundsystem community.

The seasoned dubstep producer and DJ runs System, the club night dedicated to low-end that frequently hosts dances in the capital and is powered by a custom, hand-built rig. He also helms System Music, which has been releasing a steady stream of bass-loaded 12"s from the likes of LAS, Quest and Gantz since 2014. Then there's his Radar Radio show, which he uses to showcase even more system-smashing talent.

Since we last hosted music from him – a superlative mix that dropped in 2013 – it's clear that he's become a crucial part of the UK scene and establishing that even further is his new EP, aptly titled 'System Sound'.

It lands later this month as a four-10" disc package and sees the Londoner working with vocalists from Jamaica, India and, of course, the UK. Each production will reflect what gets played during a typical System club night and we have the first play of 'Zindagi Dub', which features Delhi Sultanate & Begum X on mic duties. It's a deliciously smooth and ultra deep dub cut that comes laden with politically-charged lyrics. Strong and righteous, like all good dub should be.

'System Sound' is released on August 30 via System Music
