US dubstep producer Christine Clements, aka Vaccine, has died

US dubstep producer Christine Clements, who released under the pseudonym Vaccine, has died.
Clements husband, and fellow musician James Clements - AKA ASC - confirmed her death on August 24, two days after her death, in a post on Instagram, writing: “ It's with immense sadness that I announce the death of my beautiful wife, Christine,”
“She passed away in the early hours of August 22nd, after being admitted to hospital on the 16th for a sudden downturn in health.” the post continued.
Vaccine was well known as an active figure during substep’s heyday. She was one of the first women to be signed to the influential British dubstep label Hotflush Recordings, at a time when the genre was occupied almost entirely by men.
She has also had releases on labels like Bodikka’s NonPlus imprint and Subtle Audio.
The California-based artist was revered for her melodic and ethereal approach to dubstep, which XLR8R noted “drifts and shimmers via subtle melodies and echoed vocals. Her constructions aren’t necessarily main floor rave fodder, but rather, comedown music for a 6 a.m. all-back-to-mine.”
Her work pushed the boundaries of dubstep at the time, incorporating elements of ambience and a forward thinking approach to the genre.
In recent years, she has been working on video game soundtracks alongside running a bakery business.
“Everyone that met Christine would say she radiated warmth and kindness, was a beautiful person, and was simply a joy to be around.” The instagram caption also read.
“Many of you know her for the music which she released under the name Vaccine. I know she touched a lot of people's hearts and minds with her delicate and emotional approach to dubstep and autonomic.”
