Ukrainian electronic artist Heinali is live streaming performances from a bomb shelter

The artist and composer is raising money or the Ukrainian army and humanitarian aid

Oleg Shpudeiko, who works under the name Heinali, hosted a live stream from a bomb shelter in the Ukrainian city of Lviv on Saturday.

To raise funds for the Ukrainian army and humanitarian aid, Heinali played on a modular system that he saved whilst being evacuated from his home.

Heinali said via his Instagram that “despite the air raid alarm two hours before the performance and a rather wonky 100m Ethernet cable made of two 50m cables and a coupler shielded from rain with a plastic bag.”

In another post, he explained that the music heard in the live stream “is loosely based on the XII century organa of the Notre-Dame school and earlier polyphony.”

He adds: “It's the foundation of my new album Organa I couldn't finish due to the war.”

The project has the aim to encourage the international audience's support of the Ukrainian army and humanitarian initiatives.
