UK clubbing community to launch Fund for Fabric to fight venue's closure
"This is the beginning, not the end"
Following a painstakingly six-hour long debate and review of Fabric at Islington Town Hall this evening, the licensing sub-committee ultimately made the decision to revoke the venue's license and close Fabric forever.
Though the official decision has been made, upon the meeting's conclusion, Alan Miller, Chair of the Nightlife Industries Association, stated that NTIA will start the Fund For Fabric to fight the decision in hopes of changing the damning fate of the club.
"If it wasn't for places like Fabric, we'd have none of our culture: it's where we get inspired, where we fall in love," Miller said to a saddened, but undefeated crowd. "I'm calling to all of Britain to [come together] with the NTIA. This is not the last word."
