Listen to Tycho's surprise new album, 'Epoch'

A collection of moody tracks released on Ghostly International

After revealing a new track earlier this month and promising to “explore darker themes”, Tycho has released his new album ‘Epoch’ that further explores the essence of his sound.

As a surprise to his fans, the album surfaced on Soundcloud in the middle of the night without any indication: "I've never been fond of handing in an album then waiting four months for it to be released. I wanted to be more connected to the people consuming the music. There is a kind of visceral fulfillment you get from sharing something that you've just created with other people. That's a very satisfying feeling as an artist."

It’s a pleasant surprise as the collection of music features an ethereal motif that has consistently been at the heart of much of Tycho’s previously released material, including 2011's 'Dive' and 2014's 'Awake', both of which were released on Ghostly International.

Since launching his Tycho moniker, Scott Hansen has evolved the project into a full band, with Zac Brown contributing bass and guitar, while Rory O'Connor plays drums. It's evident after listening to 'Epoch' that the group have a fruitful chemistry.

'Epoch' is available now digitally while the physical release will be out January 20.
