Truss - 8/10

Truss comes through rough, tough and dangerous with this, his first full EP for some time.

Perc Trax is known for its uncompromising take on techno and this three-track release features some noisy, industrial experimentation from Truss, which we're really feeling.

'Wyefield' has a gnarly bassline at its foundation with almost wistful pads layered over the top, creating a dream-scape that's juxtaposed with the nightmarish bottom end.

That bass is modified and evolves to give us intermittent tastes of acid, while an analogue yelp pops in at the end of each bar.

It gets increasingly wild towards the end until it reaches a crescendo and has a feedback-esque meltdown.
