In September, TME launched the Lingyin Engine which “patented voice synthesis technology” they explained to Music Business Worldwide adding that it can “quickly and vividly replicate singers’ voices to produce original songs of any style and language”.

One of the projects that came from Lingyin Engine saw them develop “synthetic voices in memory of legendary artists” such as the late Teresa Teng, and the late Anita Mui.

This week TME also revealed that alongwith voice tributes they are looking at recreating currently active stars including Chinese actress Yang Chaoyue.

Earlier this year, an AI-powered rapper was signed to Capitol Records making him the first "AI artist" to sign a deal with a major record label.

Named, FN Meka, he was the creation of Anthony Martini and Brandon Le who say that his music is almost entirely AI-generated — apart from his voice, which is that of a real human.

Just a week after major record label Capitol Records made waves by signing the world’s first ‘AI rapper’,the virtual artist has been dropped for racial stereotyping.
