Thylacine

French artist William Rezé started his musical career playing the saxophone for a number of groups, but over time he began to feel stifled by the lack of freedom the single instrument offered.

Looking for an outlet through which he could express his wide-ranging influences in full and construct vast aural soundscapes, he founded his electronic composition project Thylacine.

In 2014 he made his debut release with the ‘Blend’ EP, simultaneously co-founding the Intuitive Records imprint with Ruben Elbase through which each of his subsequent emotionally-charged releases has arrived.

Thylacine’s next outing on the imprint will be his debut album ‘Transsiberian’. Named after his experience travelling the longest railway in the world, the record appropriately takes listeners on an expansive journey through surging grooves and tracks constructed from field-recordings Rezé made on stopovers along the way.

‘Moskva’ opens with the sounds of the train and a spoken word voice sample, before developing with melodic undulations into a soaring, powerful dose of electronica. Check it out below.
