This new iOS app from Serato can DJ your house party

Download it for free from the App Store now

Serato has unveiled a new iOS app named Pyro that can automatically DJ tracks compiled in a playlist.

The app functions by fading in between tracks, although it is looking to roll out further features such as additional song transitions, basic effects and collaborative playlists as in-app purchases.

Naturally, it’s no replacement for a proper DJ, but it is suitable for more low key affairs when you need music continuously running.

As Serato CEO AJ Bertenshaw said: "If you think this is taking the job of a DJ, then you don't really know what a DJ does.”

He added that it’s for times when "no one wants to be the guy up there DJing to five people."

The tracks can either be locally hosted on your device or streamed through Spotify, which is integrated into the app with the ability to start playing recommended tracks once a playlist ends.

There's also room for a small personal touch, with the capacity to reorder tracks and instantly send one to the top of the queue where it will begin fading in, enabling you to drop that peak time banger at the right moment.

You can download Pyro for free from the App Store now.
