The Serato and Roland DJ controller "will redefine what it means to DJ"

Get Roland's TR sound with its built-in drum sequencer

A partnership between tech companies Serato and Roland was teased last month and now the first product from the two has been announced.

The DJ-808 combines software, hardware and Roland's TR-S drum sequencer to create an instrument containing a four-channel mixer, vocal processing, ultra-high performance platters with dual-deck control two USB ports for AIRA and, according to Serato, "the deepest Serato DJ integration available, anywhere".

Ideal for on stage or in the studio, it offers the sounds of Roland's 606, 707, 808 and 909 drum machines through a 16-step sequencer and Roland provides the VT Voice Transformer which offers pitch shifting and vocal key matching.

Other specifications include 24bit/96kHz audio fidelity and large range 100mm pitch faders, while turntables and CDJs can be connected if you purchase the DVS expansion pack.

Release dates depend on location so head here for more information and to see the DJ-808 in action.
