The Ransom Note is opening a record store

London's getting a new vinyl paradise

The Ransom Note will launch a record shop next month in Forest Gate.

The magazine and label is set to open a store in east London on December 2. Most of the shop's stock will be second-hand and will cover genres as broad as house, techno, hi-NRG, italo-disco, new wave, boogie, disco, funk and soul. The store will also stock records from its own label.

Situated under a railway arch on Avenue Road, Ransom Note Records is a partnership between the magazine and Aiden d'Araujo, a dance music journalist and vinyl enthusiast who's been a key contributor to the site since 2014. Punters will also be able to book appointments with Neil Macey - the shop's in-house turntable technician.

Ransom Note Records' launch party is planned for December 2 starting at midday.
