The Joker origin film produced by Martin Scorsese is in the works
Huge news from Warner Bros and DC Comics
News has just surfaced that Warner Brothers and DC Comics has an origin film about The Joker in the works.
The movie, which has yet to be titled, will be co-written by Todd Philips and Scott Silver and co-produced by Martin Scorsese.
The announcement has stirred a huge amount of excitement, but also controversy as many fans are awry to accept an origins film on a character famous for his mysterious, ever-changing backstory.
Reports inform that the new Joker character will steer away from the classic DC universe, completely separate from Jared Leto's recent interpretation of the iconic villain in last year's Suicide Squad with the film's setting closer to a gritty Scorsese-esque crime piece.
There are no further details yet on the film's release date or cast.
