The Gardens Of Babylon turns a monastery into a three-day playground

Amsterdam mainstay The Gardens Of Babylon is launching a three-day festival, The Monastery, in July.

It'll take place at Kloster Graefenthal in Goch, Germany from July 27 to 29 and Acid Pauli, Lee Burridge and Oliver Koletzki are confirmed.

Kloster Graefenthal dates back to the 13th century and is described as having "lush grounds" and "gothic vaults". You can also expect to experience "various mysteries from times past and present."

Blond:ish, Patrice Baumel, SABO, Goldcap and Behrouz also play the 3000-capacity event, while live sets will come from KMLN, Seth Schwarz, Viken Arman and Chaim.

The side programming is as important as the music to each of The Garden Of Babylon's events. With a spiritual zone that features meditation, yoga, Tai Chi, card readings, cacao ceremonies, astrology workshops and the lunar eclipse gathering to The Tipi of Truth that leads confession sessions.

If that's not enough to persuade you, there will be a midnight dinner, the Market Of Curiosities, The Spa and bonfires at night.

As the press release states, The Monastery aims to let you "trust, believe, release and let go."

It's not just Amsterdam where The Gardens Of Babylon has sold out events. In the past year alone, the community-based party has delivered a mix of music, art and spirituality in Mexico City, Istanbul and Dubai.

Three-day tickets for The Monastery are available for €125, including camping and waste deposit.
