The Electronic Music Awards returns for a 2017 debut

After being postponed in 2016, the award show is back

On September 21, the inaugural Electronic Music Awards will take place in Los Angeles and be streamed around the world via Twitter.

The awards show details have yet to be announced, but overall the show will include 11 different categories that'll be voted upon by "a body comprised of the leading advisors and executives within the electronic community".

The EM Awards might sound familiar, for those who recall its original announcement at the beginning of 2016, when Paul Oakenfold announced the Electronic Music Awards & Foundation (as it was formerly known) which was set to air on Fox TV in the United States. Goldie was locked in to be the 2016 show's host, honoring categories like Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Radio Show of the Year, Festival of the Year, DJ of the Year, Best New Artist and Best Club of the Year as well as a variety of artists like Carl Cox, Dixon, DJ Harvey, Diplo and Skrillex.

Unfortunately, before the event was able to open its doors, it was postponed. Originally, the show was meant to return later in 2016 but has only now made its come back one year later.

Paul Oakenfold remains one of the show's Executive Producers, though it remains to be seen if any other of the previous version of the award show will be retained.
