The Avalanches' third album will be "something very special"

'We can’t wait to share it with you all'

Australian sample maestros The Avalanches are feeling their new LP, which doesn't look like it's going to take as long to be released as the last one.

"Our third album is taking shape and we can’t wait to share it with you all. It's already something very special," the Melbourne group tweeted this week.

Second album 'Wildflower' came out two years ago, famously 16 years after their masterful debut 'Since I Left You.'

The collective's Robbie Chater has previously hinted new tracks would be out as early as this year.

“It’s flowing so quickly. I think getting 'Wildflower' out of the way and following up 'Since I Left You' feels like a weight’s been lifted. The (new) music is really light, it’s some of the best stuff we’ve done,” he told FBi Radio's Arvos program last year.
