The 10,000 Hours Foundation launches in the UK this summer

Uniting dance music with a common goal

The 10,000 Hours Foundation will launch in the UK this summer, using dance music to unite fans and give them the opportunity to support their local community.

Initially founded in The Netherlands in 2010, 10,000 Hours is an organization that focuses on gathering volunteers with common interests and working with music festivals to support charities and those in need.

Foundation Director Oli Wilson recognizes the power of dance music and is excited for 10,000 Hours to make a mark in the UK: “We’ve all experienced the special, collective energy that comes when dancing with thousands of strangers. Our foundation aims to ensure that these feelings don’t fade, that the sense of purpose and unity we feel when dancing to one groove continues after the music fades by being channelled into worthwhile projects.”

News of 10,000 Hours coming to the UK coincides with WeAreFSTVL and an initiative called The Kitchen, an outlet for feeding the homeless in Essex. The Kitchen will be open on Wednesday, May 16 from 4pm-8pm at Harold Hill.
