Standard model Technics SL-1200GR expected to cost £1,500

After Technics unveiled details of the new SL-1200GR “standard model” earlier this week, a cheaper alternative to the high-end SL-1200G, pricing details have emerged.

Gizmodo is reporting the deck will cost $2,300 CAD when it retails this June, with the assumption being this will translate to around $2,000 USD and £1,500.

Coming in at half the price, the SL-1200GR is definitely a more affordable option than the £2,999-costing SL-1200G, but it’s still eye-wateringly expensive, and a reflection of Technics no longer targeting the DJ market with its turntables.
