Sydney venue Zoo Project to close

Management say the lockout-zone club will look for a new home elsewhere

Another Sydney venue in the city's restricted lockout zone has announced its closure.

Zoo Project management has announced the club will no longer operate out of its Darlinghurst Rd base in the city's once vibrant Kings Cross district, but will look for a new home elsewhere. This week's club nights have been put on hold.

"Thank you all for supporting Zoo Project over the past 18 months. Sadly and unfortunately due to many reasons as of next week, Zoo Project will no longer be open in the current location," a Facebook post reads.

"We have appointed a new professional team to assist us with finding a new location. This transition may take some time. However, we are confident in finding a new venue very soon."

Carl Craig, Darius Syrossian and Tiefschwarz have all played the two-level club.

A slew of Sydney venues including The Spice Cellar, Hugo’s Lounge and Soho have closed since the lockout curfew and last drinks laws were imposed on the city's centre in February 2014.
