Sydney DJ Paul Holden has died
The city's dance scene is mourning the loss of one of its pioneers
Pioneering Sydney DJ Paul Holden has died after an accidental fall at home.
Tributes are flowing in on social media for the well-loved and respected DJ, who was at the forefront of the city's dance scene in the late 1980s and early 90s, playing iconic events such as Field of Dreams, Stun! and Jack The House, as well as the Bacchanalia and Sleaze Ball parties at Hordern Pavilion.
Fellow long-time Sydney DJ and friend of Holden's Mark Dynamix wrote on Facebook: “I have no words right now, I can't speak, utterly shocked. I have just heard that my partner in Jack The House, Mr. Paul Holden has passed away. Absolutely devastated."
Meanwhile, Robbie Lowe wrote: "Everyone would always be smiling from ear to ear when Paul was playing. He was so infectious. I got to play alongside him for the first time ever a couple months ago and I'm so grateful for this. I was so nervous as well because I really wanted to impress him as I've always looked up to him."
