Stranger Things soundtrack to be played live at Unsound Festival
It's an exclusive for the Polish festival
Netflix series Stranger Things has turned into a cult phenomenon.
Viewers love it for its pastiche of sci-fi themes and its synth-laden soundtrack, which was released last week.
Now it's been revealed that the score of the show will be performed live for the first time at Unsound Festival in Krakow. It's creators, Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein of Austin band S U R V I V E, will head to the event in October and play at one of its atmospheric venues, which range from an engineering museum to a salt mine.
There's been other names added to the Unsound line-up too. UK experimentalists Demdike Stare and Emptyset will appear, as will Lexachast, the project from Amnesia Scanner and Bill Kouligas, as well as legendary Chicago acid crew Phuture, rising dancehall vocalist Miss Red and Gothenberg club producer Toxe.
The addition of the Stranger Things soundtrack has landed Unsound in the mainstream press. But it's not the first time it's happened: last year, a false rumour that Burial had performed sent journalists into a frenzy and in 2014 the festival made headlines by banning photography.
