Here’s the DJ setup that was seen in the season finale of Stranger Things
The turntables featured in a pivotal transition scene in the finale
An eagle-eyed spot from EDM.com has revealed what the DJ setup from the season 4 finale of Stranger Things is.
The team at EDM.com have managed to recognise and identify the vintage vinyl DJ setup - which served as a transition for Eleven from a scene in Max’s memories of her skateboarding, to a scene of Max’s memories at the middle school Snow Ball - a memory-within-a-memory if you will.
In this part of the episode, Eleven (played by Millie Bobbie Brown) is ‘piggybacking’ off of Max (played by Sadie Sink) in her head to try and reach Vecna - while Vecna is going through Max’s memories to try and find her weak spot.

The Snow Ball is clearly a core memory for Max, one that evokes a lot of emotion, so it was not surprising to fans to see the return of the Snow Ball as a key component to her storyline.
If you, like many other DJs and music fans, paused the scene in which the Snow Ball turntables featured to try and identify what was used in the vinyl setup, you may have found it hard as the text on the record players is unreadable.
But, EDM.com has identified the record player as the Technics SL-1200MK2 - a turntable released in 1979 that was commonly used for DJing and scratching. This was, in part, because of Technics’ change of the rotary pitch control to a slider-style pitch control function.

International versions of the SL-1200MK2 included line voltage switches and frequency below the platter.
The now discontinued Technics SL-1200MK2 came in black and silver, but it was the silver version of the turntable that featured in Stranger Things.
As the Technics SL-1200MK2 - or any of its updated models - is no longer being sold, as of 2010, your best bet would be to get one second-hand online.
