Steven Julien, AKA FunkinEven announces new mini-LP, ‘Bloodline’
Releasing on his imprint Apron Records
London’s Steven Julien, AKA FunkinEven has unveiled a new mini-LP titled ‘Bloodline’.
With nods to both family influences, as well as the themes shared on his 2016 LP debut ‘Fallen’, ‘Bloodline’ carries the same distinctive sound heard and loved on the former project, whilst pushing the concept forward.
The artist and DJ explained via a press release, “the influence my family has given me growing up and my ancestors, from Africa to native Indians from the Caribbean, has all played a big part in the music I create.”
The six-tracker also sees Julien pay his musical respects to cherished Roland founder and engineer Ikutaro Kakehashi, with each track featuring a tr808 or a piece of a 808.
