Spotify playlist: 50 underrated classic house tracks with serious heat

Mixmag's Overlooked Classics playlist on Spotify is given a fresh update, this time focusing on infectious grooves from the realm of house music showcasing old-school jams that are as relevant today as they were 20 years ago.

This week's update is particularly special as it includes a unique Doc Martin edit of A Tribe Called Quest's iconic hip-hop track 'Footprints', which cleverly uses some well-known samples to interpret the material. Doc is of course one of house music's historically great producers and this underrated mix deserves to be revisited along with much of his vast catalogue.

Also included in the new update are a pair of tracks by Fred Everything, both of which deliver deep and soulful dancefloor heat, as well as a funk-fueled anthem by Head Nodding Society, a sensual keyboard riff from DJ Q and much more.
