We’ve all been there, up to our elbows in the bargain bin looking for something half-decent but instead all you can find are Beegees singles and beat-up Donna Summer records.
Well, to help you explore before you hit your local record shop, we’re launching a new Disco Rarities playlist on Spotify to be updated every Tuesday.
Like our History Of Disco In 100 Tracks playlist, it will include tunes under the broad umbrella of disco, encompassing boogie, soul, Italo, funk and the newest in edits and reissues. While the genres may vary slightly, what there will always be an abundance of booty-shaking basslines, glitzy strings and killer brass sections.
The playlist has been updated this week with tracks from Patrick Adams' alias Cloud One who's album has just been given a repress, some killer Italo from Jay & Jason and a lengthy revisit of the Charles Maurice boogie comps.
