Spotify commissions a Roman-inspired statue of Metro Boomin for museum exhibit
The exhibition celebrates 2017's breakthrough artists
Spotify has commissioned full-sized statues of Metro Boomin, 21 Savage and SZA to be displayed at The Brooklyn Museum as part of the RapCaviar Pantheon exhibition.
According to the streaming service, 'RapCaviar' is "the most influential playlist in hip hop", hitting 8.5 million followers around the world.
The three featured artists commemorated have played pivotal roles breaking into the music scene, with heavy appearances on the playlist.
In line with the ancient Roman theme, Metro Boomin, 21 Savage and SZA have all been given godlike names to represent their artistic work for 2017.
Boomin has been dubbed The Architect, which Spotify explains for "crafting the sound of the generation from the shadows".
The RapCaviar Pantheon statues are made from stone, created with special 360 technology. The exhibit also pairs with an exclusive video created by Director X with narration from Pharrell.
Both can be experienced at The Brooklyn Museum starting December 8.
