Sónar has teamed up with MELLER to launch official eyewear collaboration

The Barcelona-based festival and eyewear brand have created a limited edition pair of sunglasses to celebrate Sónar's 30th anniversary

Kicking off next week, Barcelona's Sónar has announced a collaboration with eyewear brand MELLER for its 2023 event — launching a pair of limited edition sunglasses, MELLER x Sónar, to celebrate the festival's 30th anniversary.

Keeping things local, MELLER and Sónar have enlisted the help of Barca underground music star LEÏTI to be the face of the campaign, modelling the red-tinged sunglasses in a series of glossy publicity shots.

The sunglasses are set for a limited run of just 750 frames, and will be available to purchase exclusively at the festival — meaning only attendees will be able to get their hands on the exclusive pair.

Alongside working with the festival on the collaborative design, MELLER is also set to be Sónar's official eyewear partner this year

In a statement on the collaboration, MELLER said: "The MELLER team has been staying up every night binging albums and infiltrating the music scenes worldwide to create the Sónor 30th-anniversary sunglasses."

Out of passion for newness and drive for design, MELLER x Sónar sunnies emerged, a limited edition of 750 units. Once you’ll discover them at Sónar, you’d never want to leave them behind. There’s nothing wrong with being in the festival kind of mood the whole year round."
