Snapped: Mysteryland USA 2016

A New York spectacle

Mysteryland returned to New York from June 10 to 13 for its third year with a spread of headliners like Skrillex, ODESZA, Bassnectar, Gramatik and worthy supporting talents Claude Vonstroke, Joris Voorn, Hudson Mohawke and many more.

Despite the up-and-down weather (bone-chilling nighttime temperatures, threatening thunderstorms and heat in the day), the camping festival remained an event to remember with a dazzling live performance from Friday night closers ODESZA and their dazzling accompanying fireworks display.

Attendees could expect nothing less than spectacular from the over-the-top BangOnNYC tent in partnership with the House of Yes. Both took Brooklyn vibes to the festival grounds with burlesque dancers, marching bands, a purple painted school bus, giant electrified boom box and more.

Mysteryland's final day went out with a bang - as expected - and specifically in the Big Top tent, where Matthew Dear laid down an impressive extended set and kept the energy high with a fantastic house set before handing it over to Roman Flügel.

Throughout the festival, the Moroccan, carnival-themed Spiegeltent housed Desert Heart's Mikey Lion and Deep Jesus who nearly blew the roof off on Saturday and Derrick Carter on Sunday who had the wood floor jumping with an epic #DetroitHustlesHarder techno and house set.

Finally, despite being across the country from his home turf, Claude VonStroke managed to bring the San Francisco-feeling and funk all the way to Mysteryland for a saucy closing set.
