Skrillex teams with Chris Lake to try his hand at house with 'HOWSLA' compilation

The OWSLA release features Chris Lake, Wiwek and more

Over the years, North America's dance music tide has been shifted and changed by curation largely led by Skrillex, the Los Angeles-based producer who created his own imprint OWSLA five years ago to house and hone in on his and other artists' eclectic, electro and bass stylings.

The label has shifted its interest for its latest release though, with the unveiling of 'HOWSLA', a cheekily named compilation that takes a stab at more house music-tipped styles with Chris Lake also on board for curation duties.

'HOWSLA' is made up of 12 tracks (two from Chris Lake, one collaboration from Skrillex and French producer Habstrakt) and features artists like Wuki, Alex Metric, AutoErotique and more.

Though labeled as a house music compilation, the collection of tunes is distinctly an OWSLA-specific take on house music, littered still with the same bass-driven breakdowns that Skrillex popularized early on in his career.

In addition to the release, the 'HOWSLA' celebrations continue in Los Angeles with a summer residency at Hollywood venue Le Jardin with shows that'll take place every other Sunday from May 28 to September 3.
